Design + Code
I develop and deliver in-depth brand strategies that help give context to the market position my clients want their brand to flourish in. From there, I craft full brand identities and custom developed Squarespace websites that speak to their target audience.
Creative + Small
My clients are creative small business owners who know what it’s like to live life on the balance of heart and hustle. They have an eye for style but trust my expertise and experience to deliver them a finished product that is beyond their expectations.
Simplicity + Typography
My design style is considered, intentional and simple. With a strong love and appreciation for typography and structured detail, my design aesthetic is minimal, timeless and bold. I do my best to find type that represents your brand’s inner personality.
My goal is to help your brand communicate with your audience. I am passionate about partnering with like-minded creatives who have an appreciation for aesthetics that are simple, purposeful and strategically developed for success. I want to push the boundaries with not only your branding, but also your Squarespace website — designing and coding layouts that are unique, considered and a step above the rest. I want to partner with my clients to create a strong brand presence and website from the beginning, equipping them with the tools they need to self-manage their identity long-term. For that reason, all projects I take on begin with branding.
— with smart
Hi there, I’m Amber
I’m a creative designer with
a genuine passion for helping others
and seeing their dreams
comes to life.
I’m a wifey, (cat)mum and graphic designer from a small city just outside of Melbourne, Australia. I have an unhealthy obsession with iced coffee, Japanese food, fashion and walking aimlessly around department stores. When I was 19, I fell in love with a handsome American man and we got married shortly thereafter. Since then, we’ve been working towards a lifestyle which will allow us to live and travel wherever so we can set ourselves up to go between our homelands as simply as possible. From this, my desire to work for myself and take my job with me wherever I go was born. I’ve been working with fellow creative small business owners since 2017 and love hearing their own tales of hustle and heart as they go from start-up to success story. I’m a self-taught ‘coding fanatic’ who loves finding new and interesting ways to implement custom designs with code and push the boundaries of Squarespace’s DIY website platform. I have always walked a fine line between using both my right- and left-brain; creative and innovative, art and science. In school, I was usually the one taking on the whole group project because I loved the planning and research, writing my own words, and then designing the poster at the end. My ideal weekend fun as a teenager was split between adding custom HTML code and graphic banners to my friends’ Myspace profiles, and writing a teen-romance-fantasy novel that totally could’ve been the next Twilight…
As I've gotten older, this love for strategy, creativity, words and tech has grown into a passion for developing brands and websites that aren’t just pretty, but that are created with a target audience in mind. I love working with other creative small business owners who have an appreciation for custom design and seeing that come to life through the art of typography. While many designers endeavour to produce designs that cater to any style in any industry, I just don’t operate this way. My design style is heavily influenced by timeless simplicity and minimalism, with a specific focus on bold typography at the forefront. While this style is not for everybody, it is where I feel most confident in my ability to produce a refined product and where I feel most able to connect with my clients. In addition to this, partnering with like-minded designers who offer Squarespace websites to their own clients is another passion of mine. I want to help encourage other designers to be the best they can be while still servicing their clients with every need. Not every web designer is also a web developer, and sometimes the build side of web is just a catalyst for a clutching your stomach with anxiety, throwing your hands up in the air and the project into the ‘too-hard basket’. That’s where I come in to help relieve the stress so designers can focus on what they do best and let someone else pick up the rest.
